Speaking during his vetting before Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Tuesday, January 28, Dr. Omane Boamah described Gbevlo-Lartey’s appointment as a strategic and commendable decision by the president.

“I believe Larry Gbevlo-Lartey is a man of vast experience and excellent diplomatic acumen. His appointment as Special Envoy to the Alliance of Sahelian States demonstrates the president’s commitment to prioritizing regional security and diplomacy,” Dr. Omane Boamah said during the session.

He emphasised that fostering stronger ties with the Alliance of Sahelian States would be crucial in addressing shared challenges such as terrorism and instability.

“At a time when the Sahel faces significant security threats, having someone with his expertise is a clear indication that Ghana is taking its regional responsibilities seriously,” he added.
