An old student of the Dadease Agriculture Senior High School has made a passionate, urgent appeal to all other past students of the school to come to the aid of the current student population.
Doreen Aboagye, who completed the school in 2014, said that the appeal has become most pressing because the students of the school are facing a threat of a health scare if a befitting toilet facility is not constructed for them.
Speaking with GhanaWeb via phone, Doreen explained that the students currently have a very difficult situation with attending to nature’s call, a situation that is ultimately affected their overall learning experiences at the school.
Doreen lamented that while the school has past students from as far back as the early 1990s, there is hardly any attention given to it after they leave school.
“Apart from the 2009-year batch and some of us who recently completed the school, it is near impossible to reach out to our past students to help. The old people, some are from as far back as from 1994 and although the school has not existed for that long, we are burdened with a lot of school projects that need their attention.
“Governments have been supporting in their own but in all honesty, if we decided to leave everything on the government to do, we may achieve very little. They need a toilet facility badly because the situation is not looking good at all. It has not been easy for the school at all,” she lamented.
She further added that while the situations in the school persist, she is hopeful that through appeals like these and publications of this nature, some of their old students can reach to the school management and find the best ways out in helping them resolve their challenges.
“I am confident that when the past years bathes and individuals come together, we can bring some sanity back to our school. I really hope people respond to this clarion call and let’s come together to uplift the image of our school,” she added.
After she left school and relocated outside the country, Doreen Aboagye has returned occasionally to give back to the school.
Notably, she made presentations to the school in 2019, 2020, 2022, and in 2024, which is located in the Ashanti Region, off the Kumawu Road.
