Old logo would not cost any significant amount of money - Deputy EC

EC has changed its 'multi-coloured logo' to the original logo EC has changed its 'multi-coloured logo' to the original logo

The Electoral Commission (EC) has come out to explain that returning to the use of its original logo, which bears the Coat of Arms and has a ballot box showing the hand casting its vote will not "cost any significant amount of money."

According to Bossman Asare, one of the two deputies of the commission, the logo was already there and thus, there was no need spending money to create a new one.

He added that the new letterheads were going to be designed with the old logo to make everything official.

Explaining further, Asare said the letterheads were supposed to be changed when he together with his colleague and boss came into office.

The Electoral Commission on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, dumped the contentious multi-coloured logo introduced by its immediate past chairperson, Charlotte Osei in April 2016.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that a memo signed by the current chairperson of the EC, Jean Adukwei Mensa, explained that: "... the original logo..which bears the Coat of Arms and has a ballot box showing the hand casting its vote has been restored."
