The items are a donation from the Catholic Community School in Hoofddorp, Netherlands.
Mr Opoku, an old student of Atwimaman Secondary School, which was changed into a Girls Senior High School in 2003, said his choice of the school for the presentation was to help to improve facilities there. He said he was confident that the items would significantly help to enhance teaching and learning of science. Mr. Opoku said he was impressed by the improvement of facilities at the school and advised the students to concentrate on their books to enable them to achieve academic laurels.
Mrs. Victoria Derkyi Annan, the Headmistress, said she was happy with the strides the school was making. Students' population for example had grown from 20 in 2003 to 1,265.
Mrs Annan praised the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for his personal interventions at improving the teaching and learning environment of the school. The school has been a major beneficiary of the Otumfuo's Education Endowment Fund.
Mr. Dennis Adjei, Chairman of Board of Governors of the school, thanked Mr Opoku and appealed to philanthropists, churches, organizations and others to emulate the example and donate generously to the school.
