Okyehene makes peace with Otumfuo

The two traditional leaders are believed to be subjects of long-held and sustained tension between their forefathers.

However, photos of the two great and revered traditional rulers at the weekend went viral on social media, showing rare moments of excitement.

The two gentlemen were captured wearing shirts over slacks with a cap with the brim facing forward and looked set for the game of golf.

“The emerging of the pictures of the two leaders flanked by their subjects, have indeed broken the seeming rivalry between them, a source at Manhyia told Today.

Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin at the weekend was in Manhyia to pay a visit to the Asante Monarch , Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The visit comes few weeks after the Asantehene vented publicly over attempts by some individuals close to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to create enmity between him and the Akyem people.

President Akufo-Addo subsequently visited Manhyia and held a private meeting with the Asantehene.

Meanwhile, the President on Saturday, June 16, 2018 joined the two influential traditional leaders, for a historic dinner at the Manhyia Palace.

The meeting was held ahead of the Head of State International Golf Invitational Tournament Awards Dinner.

The two monarchs opened the tournament.

Mr Akufo-Addo after the historic meeting wrote on his Facebook page that: “On Saturday, 16 June 2018, I interacted with the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and the Okyehene, Osaagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, at the Manhyia Palace, ahead of the Head of State International Golf Invitational Tournament Awards Dinner.”
