Oil spillage causes 8 accidents on Accra-Tema motorway

A string of accidents occurred on the Accra-Tema motorway Tuesday morning as a result of oil spillage close to Kasapreko Junction.

An oil tanker spilt its content on the road leaving it slippery, thus, making it difficult for drivers to manoeuvre on that route.

The cars kept skidding and careering off the road due to the lack of friction on it.

An eyewitness, Patrick N. Y. Sarfo, who recorded the event live on Facebook, said eight accidents had occurred just before 9 a.m. on Tuesday.

The road users are, therefore, calling on the Ghana National Fire Service and the police to rush to the scene to help with rescue efforts and to prevent further harm.
