Nii Kortey Boi II, Ofankor Mantse, has commended the chiefs, and citizens of Ga West Municipality for their support towards the development and preservation of peace in the community over the past year.
He said Ofankor is a peaceful town with no chieftaincy litigation and this is a sign of massive development in the community.
He urged the citizenry to continue supporting the stool to facilitate more development interventions.
Nii Boi was speaking during a durbar to mark the annual Homowo festival celebration of the people of Ofankor in Accra.
The festival, which is celebrated among the Ga- Adangbe’s, is meant to hoot at hunger. It is also a platform to promote family unity and the discussion of socio-economic issues.
He cautioned the people to be wary of the current cholera outbreak and live clean and healthy lives in order to be free from the disease.
Nii Boi said regular clean up exercises could help prevent the disease.
He said the community is yet to record a case of cholera and expressed the hope that based on a clean-up exercise organised by the people the disease would not affect the area.
Nii Boi II cautioned the people to report likely symptoms of Ebola to the health facilities.
He noted that the major challenge of the community is lack of potable water supply, and assured the people that efforts are underway to help solve the situation.
