The 15 members of the Saviour Church of Ghana who lost their lives in a tragic road accident on the Atwedie stretch of the Kumasi-Accra Highway were laid to rest in a mass burial at Obogu on Thursday.
Videos from the funeral and the burial of the 15 victims have gone viral. One of the videos captured a group of men digging the mass grave where the victims were going to be buried.
Another video showed the coffins of the 15 young men and women who died in the crash arranged in the mass grave.
Mourners, including the grieving family members, classmates, and community members, had faces drawn with profound grief.
Family members and classmates of the deceased could be seen clinging to each other for support as they wailed.
The devastating crash occurred on Monday, July 28, 2025, at about 2:30 P.M., when the victims were returning from the church's annual programme in the Eastern Region.
Eyewitnesses say the accident happened following a head-on collision between the vehicle carrying the church members and an oncoming fuel tanker.
The tragedy has plunged the entire Obogu community and the Saviour Church into mourning, with bereaved families and friends struggling to come to terms with the sudden loss of their loved ones.
