Obengfo Hospital owner falls sick in police cells

Beleaguered owner and Chief Medical Officer of Obengfo Hospital Dominic Kwame Obeng-Andoh is on admission at the Police Hospital after reporting of ill-health hours after he was picked up by the police.

Dr Obeng-Andoh is under investigation for the death of Stacy Offei Darko, who was the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP).

She is reported to have died on Monday, May 21 at the advanced body sculpt centre.

Obengfo Hospital’s Chief Medical Officer was picked up by the Homicide Unit of the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) of the Ghana Police Service to aid in investigations.

But he was sent to the Nima Police Station on Monday due to lack of a cell at the CID headquarters.

He was, however, rushed to the Police Hospital after complaining of sickness.

He is currently receiving treatment.

Dr Obeng-Andoh came under scrutiny in 2013 after some patients of his complained of complications from surgery.

The Medical and Dental Council consequently looked into operations at the Hospital and found out that he had not renewed his license for years.
