Nursery attendance attends sanitation workshop

Tema, May 21, GNA-The Rotary Club of Tema, on Friday organised a day's workshop on health and good sanitation for Day Care attendants in Tema, as part of the Club's centennial celebration. It also donated 30 litter containers to some day care schools in the city, 50 treated mosquito nets to the inmates of the Sisters of Charity Centre in Tema.

The Municipal Director of Education, Mrs Lucy Kwapong in an address read on her behalf, said that the Ghana Education Service was committed to supporting measures aimed at providing good health and sanitation to improve education in the country. She urged authorities of pre-schools to provide inmates with balanced diet and adequate sanitary facilities to prevent them from contracting diseases.

A Principal Nursing Officer at the Tema Polyclinic, Mrs Judith Amo-Mensah asked nursery schools to ensure good ventilation to prevent the spread of air borne diseases. She asked the participants to put into practice skills and knowledge acquired at the workshop to improve their institutions. 21 May 05
