Number 12: Giving Akufo-Addo pre-premiere viewing 'totally wrong' – Nyaho-Tamakloe

Former Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has said the decision by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas to have shown excerpts of his latest undercover documentary, Nymber 12, to President Nana Akufo-Addo, ahead of the premiering, was “totally wrong”.

“When you do that the whole thing loses credibility”, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe told Accra-based Joy FM on Thursday, 7 June, a day after the premiering.

So, he added, “The president even viewing the tape before it was shown to the public was totally wrong”.

According to him, “If the investigator is really doing a genuine work and is independent of anyone at all, the tape must be viewed by everybody at the same time so that we know exactly the rot in the system because I believe strongly that certain portions can easily have been compromised.

“The tape shouldn’t have been seen by anybody, not even the editor-in-chief of that paper wherever he works. Nobody should have seen it and that is what you can call a genuine investigation and this can only happen in civilised countries”, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe insisted.

President Nana Akufo-Addo reported the current president of the GFA to the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service after having been privy to the documentary.

Mr Nyantakyi was captured taking bribe and using the name of the president to peddle influence. Several referees and match administrators were also captured taking bribe to fix matched.
