Dr. Nuhu Adams, the District Chief Executive for Awutu-Senya, has been elected the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the proposed Awutu-Senya East Constituency.
He polled 88 votes out of the 176 votes cast to beat five other contestants. The primary is among a number of elections the NDC is holding in new constituencies.
Dr. Adams thanked the delegates and promised to team up with all branch executives for the party to win the seat in the December election.
Mr. Adu Yaboah, Central Regional Chairman for the NDC, appealed to the delegates to unite now that the primary is over and work towards the party’s victory in December.
Alhaji Abeib Adramani, the Constituency Chairman, also called for unity among the members, saying, "a house divided cannot stand” and appealed to the other contestants to forget about the primary and team up with the candidate and the party members to work hard to win the Kasoa seat for the NDC.
Representatives from Egle Party and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) were present and gave solidarity messages.
