Thaddeus Sory, Founding Partner at Sory & Partners Law, has rejected suggestions that he is a direct successor to senior legal practitioner Tsatsu Tsikata.
Speaking as a guest on the KSM Show, Sory, regarded as one of Ghana’s leading legal practitioners, described himself as a student of the legal luminary and ruled out any possibility of attaining Tsikata’s stature in the field.
“I have heard people say that, but I don’t know what they’ve seen. These are not people who are lawyers, so maybe they don’t know Tsatsu Tsikata. Because if you know Tsatsu Tsikata, you can’t possibly say, even in your wildest dreams, that I am the next. I would not be; I can’t. He’s a legend; I am not.
"We could get close to that, but I don’t see myself reaching his level. We all still learn from him. He is a legend by all standards, and you can’t take that away from him,” he stated.

He emphasized that such suggestions are made only by those outside the legal profession and noted that Tsatsu Tsikata’s distinctiveness is not solely due to his legal prowess but is heavily influenced by his experiences.
“Not just by his training, but by his experiences. When I sit with him and he talks to me about his experiences as a student and as a lawyer, it is not something I could match even halfway in my lifetime,” he said.
