'Nobody can blackmail me with votes' - Kwame A Plus

The Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng (popularly known as Kwame A Plus) has asserted that he will not be intimidated or blackmailed by voters threatening to withdraw their support.

In a post shared on social media platform X on February 1, 2026, the outspoken independent MP made it clear that if constituents choose not to vote for him, they are free to cast their votes elsewhere.

"Nobody can blackmail me with votes. If you won’t vote for me, take your vote," A Plus stated, emphasising his independence and unwavering stance on democratic principles.

His comments coincided with rising discussions surrounding the potential third-term bid of President John Dramani Mahama.

Elected in 2024, A Plus has built a reputation as a vocal activist-turned-politician, advocating for transparency and accountability in governance.

Following his comments, some online users have been reacting.

One of them, @Kwamecomfire remarked, "The confidence dey but ballot box be the real judge. Ghana politics sweet paaa till results humble them. We dey here, popcorn ready."

Another user, @_mimi0024_, added, "This is getting interesting."
