Former Ghana international, Lee Addy has questioned the mentality of the current Black Stars, claiming there is a lack of hunger for success within the squad.

Lee Addy, who was part of Ghana’s team at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, did not hold back in his assessment, drawing a sharp contrast between his generation and the present group of players.

“There is no hunger for success in the current Black Stars team,” he stated.

The former defender suggested that the drive and determination that defined previous squads, particularly the 2010 team that reached the World Cup quarter-finals appear to be missing in the current setup.

His comments add to growing criticism surrounding the team’s recent performances, with fans and pundits increasingly questioning the players’ commitment and desire on the pitch.

The Black Stars of Ghana have been paired against England, Croatia and Panama in Group L at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.
