Nigerian team arrives to conduct research

Accra, Aug. 18, GNA - A 27-man team from the Nigerian Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), a non-military organization, is in the country to study the geo-political and socio-economic situation of Ghana.

During its one-week stay, the team led by Professor Ogoh Alubo, Director of the Institute, would interact with officers and men of the various military intuitions in the country.

They would listen to a lecture on: "The Ghana Armed Forces in National Development."

The team on Monday called on Lieutenant-General Seth Obeng, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), at his Office, Burma Camp. The team would after the tour reflect on and examine policy options and make recommendations to the Ghana government on the economic development of the country.

The team is made up of representatives from a cross-section of the Nigerian Society, including Senior Military Officers, Civil Servants, Labour Unions, Women's Organizations and the Private Sector.
