NIGERIA's former Industry Minister, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, has been appointed into Ghana's apex economic think-tank, the Ghana Investors' Advisory Council (GIAC) by President John Agyekun Kufuor.

When the body meets in Accra from November 8 to 10, Tukur will sit alongside other members of the council who include the World Bank President, James Wolfensohn and the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Mr. Horst Kohler.

According to a statement by the Minister for Private Sector Development of Ghana, Mr. Kwamena Bartels, the GIAC is a high-level advisory body, which has been formed by President Kufuor's administration "with the aim of attracting foreign investment to Ghana."
