Niger Ambassador bids farewell to Kufuor

Accra, March 2, GNA- President John Agyekum Kufuor on Tuesday said with determination West African countries were rising up to develop the Sub-Region into a uniformed entity despite the language barrier between Anglophone and Francophone countries.

He said citizens from neighbouring countries living in other countries were law-abiding and performed their businesses in peace thereby making Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), gradually moving into a single state.

President Kufuor made the remarks when Mr Adoulkarimou Seini, Niger Ambassador in Ghana paid a farewell call on him at the Castle, Osu after five years duty tour.

He commended Mr Seini for making sure the relationship between Ghana and Niger that had been in existence from history was put on a higher pedestal.

Mr Seini expressed appreciation for the warm reception that was accorded to him during his tenure and the cordial relationship that had existed between the two countries.

He commended President Kufuor for the unique role he had played to maintain peace and stability within ECOWAS under his tenure as the Chairman of the Sub-Regional body.
