New government appointees for Fanteakwa Assembly sworn in

Begoro, Feb. 21, GNA - Mr Ebenezer Ofoe Caesar, out-going Fanteakwa District Chief Executive, on Friday urged government appointees to the assembly to exhibit non-partisanship in their work to help develop the district.

Mr Ofoe Caesar was addressing a special assembly meeting at Begoro, where 16 new government appointees to the assembly were sworn in by the Begoro District Magistrate, Mr Charles Owusu Nsiah. The 16 appointees made up of 12 men and 4 women were appointed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government in consultation with chiefs and elders in the area to replace the past administration's appointees.

Mr Ofoe Caesar reminded the appointees that there was no language barrier at assembly meetings. The assembly members later elected Madam Martha Amaning, an educationist and Mr Christopher Narh, an agriculturist as the assembly's representatives to the Regional Electoral College to elect the regional representative to the Council of State.
