Accra, Sept. 11, GNA - The United States government is set to unveil a new design of the $5 dollar banknote on September 20. The note will come into circulation early next year as part of efforts of staying ahead of counterfeit agents.
A statement issued by the Bank of Ghana on Tuesday said since the dollar was widely circulated internationally, the Federal Reserve, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing and the US Secret Service would implement a public education programme to inform stakeholders about the features of the new five dollar note.
"From September 20, educational materials will be available via the internet in downloadable format and in multiple languages," the statement added.
