New Party Emerges

Accra - A new political party, Traditional Congress Party (TCP) has been formed. The founder is a U.S. based Ghanaian Educationist Mr. Anthony Toku.

In a statement signed by the Founder/Chairman and copied to the press, it said the party's main aim is to bring total reform in the socio-economic and political life of the people in the country.

Among the objectives, TCP is to infuse new blood into the political system of the country and help bring genuine change in the lives of the people of Ghana through a planned socio economic program tailored to the basic need of the people and the country.

The party's slogan is HEAT, that is, Healthcare, Education, Housing, Employment; Agriculture and Transportation.

According to the statement, TCP - is a party of reconciliating and unity.

The party the statement said is committed to uniting the people of Ghana to fight the economic war confronting the country.

With this, Ghana has now about eight political parties.

They are the ruling National Democratic Congress, (NDC) ;New Patriotic Party, (NPP); Convention Party (CP); United Ghana Movement (UGM); Ghana Consolidated Democratic Party (GCDP); Egle Party (EP); and Peoples National Convention (PNC).
