A Nation without a chief they say, is like a baby with no father, he is bullied by any person without recourse, same is the situation with residents of Abura Dunkwa in the Central Region.
A lot has happened in the town in the era of no chief; from the killing of the Omankyeame and wife to the killing of a Residents by Fulanimen.
At last the people can heave a sigh of relief, and live comfortably as they get ready to mend their pieces together again for peace and development as they install a new Odikro for the town.
The newly outdoored Odikro, known in private life as Mr. Kofi Asamoah, a Polytechnic graduate Engineering and Kumasi based businessman is under the stool name Nana Asokwa Kwegyir II.
He succeeded his late uncle and chief of Abura Dunkwa, Nana Osam Kwesi VII who died four years ago.
Addressing his subjects, after the oath of allegiance, Asokwa Kwegyir II promised to tackle security issues in the town and crack down on criminal activities in the area.
He pleaded with the people to give him their maximum support to improve sanitation in Abura Dunkwa.
Guantoahene Kwame Asoku I, who presided over the ceremony asked the people to forge ahead in unity and rally behind their newly appointed chief to succeed in his endeavors to improve the lot of the town.
Kweku Bee Abrante reports from the venue that, the police was absent from the beginning of the installation ceremony, yet the people comported themselves till the end of the event without any major hitches despite the recent happenings in the town.
