New Bishop for Koforidua Diocese

Koforidua, Oct. 15, GNA - The Presiding Bishop of Methodist Church of Ghana, the Most Reverend Dr. Robert Aboagye-Mensah on Sunday inducted into office Right Reverend Frederick Nnuroh as the Second Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Methodist Church at Koforidua. Rt. Rev. Nnuroh takes over from Rt. Rev. Emmanuel G. L Twum-Baah, the first Bishop of the Diocese, who retired early this year after six years in service.

Rt. Rev. Nnuroh was elected as the new Bishop at this year's annual synod of the Koforidua Diocese at Kukurantumi in May this year. Before his election, Rt. Rev. Nnuroh, 52, was the Superintendent Minister of the Nkawkaw Circuit of the Methodist Church. He is a graduate of Trinity College, Legon and currently pursuing his Phd. programme in New Testament Study at the university of Ghana, Legon.

Delivering the sermon, the Most Rev. Dr. Aboagye-Mensah observed that, what was important in life was not the crisis that one goes through but the lessons learnt from it. He explained that it was only the unwise who do not learn from whatever happens to them and continue to live after every crisis that they went through as if nothing had happened. Most Rev. Dr. Aboagye-Mensah said God has plans for his chosen ones and he selects them with all their faults and change them to be able to fulfil His plans for them.

He said the weakness of the chosen ones never frustrate God, but only delay their fulfillment of His plans. Hence, in his own wisdom God uses crisis to bring His people on their knees for them to realize the need to depend on Him. Most Rev. Dr. Aboagye-Mensah urged Christian leaders to realize that it was God who guides and directs them in their work hence the need to be sensitive to the presence of the Holy Spirit to guide them. He assured the newly inducted Bishop that God is a dependable fellow who would always protect and shield him if he puts his trust in the Lord.
