Network Of Catholic Journalists

The President of the West African Journalists Association, Mr. Kabral Amihere, has urged the government to reconsider its decision not to grant religious bodies frequencies to operate radio and television stations. In his view, since religious bodies which own newspapers have shown a high sense of accountability, they would exercise the same decorum if they are granted frequencies for the electronic media. Mr. Amihere said this when he opened a five-day refresher course for members of the international network of Young Journalists in Accra. The course is being attended by catholic journalists from Ghana , Sierra Leone and Nigeria.
