Social media users on X have reacted to a viral video showing a sachet water seller stepping away from her trade to direct traffic.
The 33-second clip, shared by SIKAOFFICIAL on Monday, March 16, 2026, captures the woman standing in the middle of the road, guiding vehicles through an intersection where the traffic lights had broken down.
According to some users, the traffic lights in that area have not been functioning for years, leaving drivers to struggle with an avoidable gridlock.
Following this, many praised the seller for taking initiative and performing what they described as “the work of the government.”
Comments on the platform suggested a rare display of patriotism and civic responsibility.
Several users described her as a “true patriot,” applauding her willingness to leave her business momentarily to restore order on the road.
“She deserves her flowers for this,” another user wrote.
“This was the time she would have gotten money but [you] see her selfless act making sure everyone gets home on time But one politician is somewhere thinking about himself only,” another commenter wrote.
Another netizen identified as PINKMAN, stated, “while some officials ignore problems, a pure water seller stepped up. Amazing.”

A truly public spirited Ghanaian! If only the majority of us will be willing to sacrifice a little of our time, resources and committed to public good, this lovely country of ours will be far better.

Who taught her how to coordinate traffic? Also, kudos to the drivers for also complying; though I’m sure when she started some weren’t complying fully
