Nduom on SFO Report

PRESS RELEASE

RE: PETITION MADE BY BRIGHT AKWETEY CONCERNING AN ?SFO REPORT? AND ALLEGATIONS MADE BY HIM AGAINST DR. PAPA KWESI NDUOM, MP FOR KEEA AND CPP PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANT

The Nduom for President 08 Campaign Office is pleased to inform the general public, CPP members and the media as follows:

We have been aware of the purported ?SFO Report? dated January 2001 being used as a campaign weapon by some of the aspirants for national executive positions and the high position of flag bearer for some time.

The document has been distributed by agents of these aspirants for more than six weeks to CPP people across the country. We know which offices in Accra and throughout the country where copies were made and which people directed their distribution.

The Nduom for President 08 Team has explained the circumstances that led to the production of that ?Report?. The Team has explained that indeed, this was the subject of review by Parliament in 2001. Parliament considered the document and approved Dr. Nduom to become Minister of Economic Planning & Regional Cooperation. The CPP people have accepted the explanation and have resolved to vote for Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom.

We have been aware of the role of Mr. Bright Akwetey and other aspirants in all of this. This is not the only item in their bag of negative campaign. In the supreme interest of the CPP, we have kept our word that we will not engage in a campaign of insults or mudslinging. Obviously, Mr. Akwetey and his collaborators are desperate because their negative campaign has been rejected by the CPP delegates and members across the country.

We will remain focused on our positive campaign of ideas and efforts to strengthen the ability of the CPP to become great and strong once again. We will continue to take our message to the delegates. We are confident that they will reject the mudslingers and vote for the people?s choice Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom and his team come Sunday, December 16, 2007.

Dr. Nduom has referred the matter to professionals for the purpose of determining which course of action to take (including legal ones) after the CPP Congress, to address the allegations made in the public domain by Mr. Akwetey against Dr. Nduom.

The Nduom for President 08 Team wishes the Convention People?s Party and its members a highly successful National Delegates Congress.

Forward Ever, Backward Never!
