Dr Sodzi Sodzi-Tettey, Chief Executive Officer of the National Vaccine Institute (NVI), has announced the inauguration of an Audit Committee to safeguard the affairs of the Institute.
He said, “We are excited to announce yet another stride in the determined march to build institutional capacity… NVI hosted the historic inauguration of its very first Audit Committee.”
The Audit Committee is composed of Alhassan Fuseini (Internal Audit Agency), Newman Owiredu Darkwa (Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana), Shirley-Ann Narh (Internal Audit Agency), Kwamena Essielfie Quayson (Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology, also NVI Board member), and Frederick Mensah Acheampong (Ministry of Health, also NVI Board member).
Alhassan Fuseini was unanimously appointed Chairman of the Committee.
He expressed the Committee’s commitment to support the management of the Institute in ensuring audit compliance.
The members of the Audit Committee were sworn in by Hayford Dowuona-Hammond from the Internal Audit Agency.
Dr Sodzi Sodzi-Tettey pledged the full cooperation of management and staff to the Committee in the collective quest to develop functional structures for the Institute.
Wilfred Addo, Director of Audit at the Ministry of Health, indicated that the Ministry would continue to support all activities aimed at achieving the broader mandate of the NVI.
The Audit Committee has already held its first meeting to review NVI’s 2025 fourth-quarter internal audit report and has developed its calendar for 2026.
