National Security quizzes Boateng-Gyan; But Gbevlo says it is not worth investigating

National Security officials have quizzed the embattled National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over his leaked tape saga.

Mr. Yaw Boateng-Gyan was at the headquarters of the National Security on Monday.

Speaking to an Accra based radio station, the National Security Coordinator, Col. Larry Gbevlo Lartey, confirmed the invitation but was emphatic that “there is nothing worthy on the tape investigating”.

“We have transcribed the voices and it is obvious that there is nothing on the tape that should be investigated. Sincerely speaking, if what Mr. Boateng-Gyan said was so serious we will proceed to investigate him,” he added.

The NDC organizer was captured on a leaked tape allegedly plotting with some party hoodlums to infiltrate the Special Forces of the Ghana Armed Forces during the general elections in December.

The voices on the said tape attracted widespread criticisms from civil society groups, the clergy and opposition parties.

Mr. Yaw Boateng-Gyan has since admitted that the voice on the tape was his.
