National Reconciliation Commission to Tamale

The National Reconciliation Commission (NRC) would move its public hearings from Accra to Tamale from 17th to 27th June, 2003 and would sit at the GNAT Hall.

A statement signed by the Public Affairs Director of the NRC, Ms. Annie Anipa said the hearings will focus mainly on statements filed in the Northern, Upper East and Upper West regions.

It said petitions from the Brong Ahafo region would be heard in Kumasi at a later date.

Statement taking at all the Zonal offices would cease at the end of August this year.

It therefore called on persons who wish to submit statements at the NRC Zonal offices in Bolgatanga, Tamale, Ho, Takoradi and Kumasi to do so by the August deadline.

Statements will continue to be received at the headquarters, Old Parliament House in Accra till 13th January 2004.

However, Statement makers are to note that they may lose the opportunity to be heard if their statements are submitted late i.e. close to the expiry of the Commission's one-year mandate.
