A member of the NPP Communications Team, Benjamin Gyewu-Appiah, better known as "Benghazi," has warned leaders of the ruling NDC government of the looming vengeance of God regarding their treatment of issues linked to the National Cathedral project.
He made the declaration in a post on X shared by EDHUB on July 25, 2025.
In his estimation, how the government ascribes financial malfeasance to pastors named in the National Cathedral controversy could spell doom for them.
According to him, a man of God told him that the NDC government's handling of the National Cathedral issue could incur the wrath of God.
"A man of God told me this morning that if the NDC is not careful about the issues concerning the National Cathedral project, God will deal with some of their elders, and they will start dying one after the other," the post said.
Gyewu-Appiah added that he received a warning from a religious figure, emphasising that dire consequences await some leaders of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) if they fail to address concerns related to the cathedral the right way.
"The NDC party uses the issues surrounding the National Cathedral project to embarrass prominent pastors in the country. However, there is no truth to claims of financial mismanagement. The accusations against former President Akufo-Addo were completely unfair," he remarked.
The “prophecy” suggests that certain elders within the NDC may face grave repercussions if the situation is not addressed.
His statement has quickly gained attention, given the contentious nature of the National Cathedral project.
