Nasara co-ordinator aspirants urged to conduct peaceful campaign

Alhaji Fuseini Maiga, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Council of Elders, has called on aspirants contesting for the position of the National Nasara co-ordinator to conduct their campaigns in the Zongos in a peaceful atmosphere.

Speaking to Ghana News Agency in an interview in Accra on Monday, he advised them to throw their weight behind whoever wins the position to ensure victory for the party in 2020 and beyond.

Alhaji Maiga lauded the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo for honouring his campaign promises especially to the Zongo Communities with the appointment of a Minister responsible for Inner City and Zongo Development.

He expressed his appreciation for the establishment of the Zongo Development Fund and said with that, the needs of the Zongo communities had been taken to a higher level.

Alhaji Maiga who founded the Nasara Wing, advised residents of Zongo communities to take full advantage of the government’s initiative to improve themselves to contribute their quota to national development.

He urged the aspirants to work in unity irrespective of whoever won the position to erase the erroneous Impression that Zongos were the place for nefarious and negative activities.

Alhaji Maiga also urged them to resist the temptation of allowing politicians to use Zongo communities as their base for fomenting trouble and confusion which created the impression that Zongos were for evildoers.

He commended Anas Aremeyaw Anas, the Investigative Journalist for his efforts in fighting corruption in the country and called for support and encouragement in his crusade to make Ghana corruption-free.
