Nandom Rural Bank opens second agency

Hamile, November 7, GNA - Mr George Sulley, Lawra District Chief Executive, has appealed to rural banks to sensitise the public on the numerous government financial interventions available to them. He said lack of information about some of these interventions had resulted in the facilities not adequately being accessed. Mr Sulley said this when he opened the second agency of the Nandom Rural Bank at Hamile in the Jirapa/Lambussie District. The bank has its first agency at Fielmua in the Sissala West District.

He said sensitising the public on facilities available to them by the government was necessary if programmes aimed at reducing and alleviating poverty among the people were to be achieved. Mr Jacob Yirerong, Chairman of the board of the Nandom Rural Bank, said the opening of the Hamile agency was in line with the bank's policy of reaching its customers.

He said the bank had introduced its latest product known as 'susu collection" as part of its savings drive and is targeting farmers, traders and other hawkers.
