The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has asked its members to ignore attacks by former first lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings since she is working to douse the seeming public attention on the troubles in opposition New Patriotic Party.
The call comes on the back of the latest attack on President John Mahama by the wife of the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDP).
Mrs Rawlings in an address to her supporters in the Volta region asked Mr Mahama to accommodate criticisms.
“Whatever it is, criticism is good for your own spiritual growth and upbringing and helps you to improve on your way of life…it is very important to have criticism and critique because it helps to bring you back in line.
“But if you say that you will not agree to anyone criticizing you because they have never been in your position, then you are someone we should put a big question mark on and not look at you as a leader at all,” she stated.
However, in a statement signed by its deputy general secretary Koku Anyidoho Monday, the party accused Mrs Rawlings of working with the NPP to distract the umbrella family.
“All comrades are by this Release being asked to please ignore the blatant attack on the National Democratic Congress (NDC), from Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings.
“It is common knowledge that she is in cahoots with the fast-sinking NPP and because the Party is under serious pressure, she has decided to attack the NDC so we go into a dog fight with her to create an escape route for NPP," the statement noted.
