Nana Konadu whips up support in the North

Former First Lady and National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential aspirant, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings has taken her campaign to the Northern and Upper Regions.

On Wednesday a huge convoy of supporters in vehicles and motorbikes met her at the outskirts of Wa in the Upper West Region and heralded her into the Wa municipality.

Nana Konadu called on the Wa Na, Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV to inform him of her candidature as presidential aspirant for the NDC. The former First Lady and her campaign team later met delegates in a private session to explain her vision for the party.

On the campaign trail Nana Konadu has also visited Tumu and Jirapa in the Upper West Region. At Jirapa the delegation called on the Jirapa Naa, Naa Angsole Ganaa II.

On Monday Nana Konadu toured Bawku in the Upper East Region where she paid a courtesy call on the Bawku Naba Asigri Azoka Abugrago II and pledged her commitment to the development of the area.

The former First Lady called on the Bawku Traditional Council to strengthen the peace process so the region could also enjoy development. She went on to commend the chiefs and people of Bawku for the commitment and support to the NDC and thanked them for travelling to Accra to commiserate with her family after their home in Ridge was completely gutted by a fire on February 14th 2010. Mrs. Agyeman-Rawlings also visited Navrongo where aside meeting delegates she also called on the Navro Pio, Dr. A. B. Adda. Bolgatanga did not miss out on the campaign trail and during that stop Nana Konadu paid a courtesy call on the Bolga Naba.

In the Northern Region, Nana Konadu¹s team has toured Tamale, Kumbungu, Damongo, Yendi, Bimbilla and Walewale. In Tamale the former First Lady called on the Gukpena of Tamale, Regent Abu Safianu and the Dakpema Alhaji Abdulai Ziblim. She was also at the Yabonwura¹s palace in Damongo where the Paramount Chief of Damongo, Damongo Wura Tutunma Jejelemu II, met her. Nana Konadu also visited the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi and also called on the Kumbungu Naa, Alhaji Abu Iddrisu.

Nana Konadu thanked the Chiefs and people of Kumbungu for their support for the NDC¹s vision and asked for their blessings in her quest to become President of Ghana.

The Kumbungu Naa was grateful for Nana Konadu¹s visit and pledged to pray for success, unity and peace in the NDC. He said he was convinced only the NDC could unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of the late Yaa-Naa, Yakubu Andani.
