Nana Konadu Stands Tall Among All Candidates - NDP

The executives of the National Democratic Party (NDP) have said are making progress in moves to get former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, to contest as the party’s flagbearer for the December elections.

The party said it had begun talks with the former first lady and believes that she was likely to accept their proposal.

General Secretary of the NDP, Dr. Joseph Mamboa-Rockson who spoke on an Accra based radio station indicated that the party was looking for someone who was easily marketable and had a record of achievements.

He said, “We are still making moves to talk to her because we want her to be our presidential candidate. We are looking for someone who can be marketed easily and has a record of achievements,”

Mr. Mamboa-Rockson stated that the former first lady stood tall among the other aspiring presidential candidates.

“I think she stands tall among all the presidential candidates because if you look at the presidential candidates so far, she can be compared to the likes of Nana Akufo-Addo.”

He said the party was looking for someone who can fit into its agenda and what the party wanted to achieve come January 2013, “So that is why we are seeking her to come lead the party”.
