Nana Konadu Accuses Pyram

Pyram, R.5 and other non-banking institutions whose activities have been controversially curtailed by the NDC government have been accused by Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings of engaging in currency counterfeiting.

According to the Free Press which carried the story, the first lady made the accusation during a visit to the Brong- Ahafo region. She said while the government was doing everything to protect the interests of the people, the operators of the peoples banks were engaged in printing counterfeit money which they used to pay huge interests to their clients. She described the operations of the peoples banks as sabotage of the economy.
