An exchange erupted between veteran journalist Kwesi Pratt Jnr and former STC Managing Director Nana Akomea over the NPP’s 2028 presidential prospects and the political future of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
The disagreement followed the release of a poll by popular pollster and Executive Director of Global Info Analytics, Mussa Dankwah.
The poll suggested that, as of December last year, Dr Bawumia would lose to any candidate the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presents in the 2028 general elections.
This interpretation sparked controversy between Kwesi Pratt and Nana Akomea on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo on February 3, 2026, with the latter accusing Pratt of misrepresenting the findings of the report.

According to Nana Akomea, the poll did not conclude that Dr Bawumia would definitively lose to any NDC candidate in 2028.
“Kwesi said Mussa Dankwah had indicated that in 2028 anybody the NDC brings will beat Dr Bawumia but Mussa Dankwah never said that. What he said was as of December last year,” Nana Akomea stated.
He clarified that the report only reflected public sentiment at the time the poll was conducted and did not account for future changes or developments.
However, Kwesi Pratt remained unconvinced and insisted on his interpretation of the poll.
“A poll one month away… that is exactly what he said,” Pratt argued.
The host of the programme, Kwami Sefa Kayi, later intervened by playing an audio recording of Mussa Dankwah in an attempt to settle the dispute.
