Nana Addo’s aloofness ‘unthinkable’ – Kwakye-Ofosu

Felix Kwakye-Ofosu, Former Deputy Communications Minister Felix Kwakye-Ofosu, Former Deputy Communications Minister

Former Deputy Communications Minister Felix Kwakye-Ofosu has described as ‘unthinkable’ the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s aloofness on pertinent national issues.

He said the President has not been stamping his authority to whip the ‘asses’ of his appointees who have been messing around by dragging the name of his government in the mud.

The former Deputy Minister of Communications cited the case of the High Commissioner of South Africa Ayisi Boateng expressing disappointment in the President’s failure to act over his discriminatory comment.

He further wondered why the President has kept mum about the activities of pro New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante groups.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo seems tamed after assumption of office contrary to his ‘tough’ talks during 2016 elections.

Speaking with Francis Abban on Morning Starr, Mr Kwakye-Ofosu said, “President Akufo-Addo is good at rhetoric…there is some level of aloofness when I look at the President in some instances. We were told the One-district-one-factory project will start when the rains stop. We’ve not had rains in a long time but there is no sign that the project is going to start’.
