Member of Parliament for Nalerigu/Gambaga, Nurudeen Muhammed Mumuni, has strongly condemned the killing of two students at Nalerigu Senior High School.
Speaking on Channel One News on Sunday, July 27, 2025 he described the incident as a “barbaric and inhumane act with no place in a civilised society.”
He further pledged to personally apprehend those responsible and hand them over to the police if given the opportunity.
"The incident that happened at Nalerigu Senior High School is barbaric, unacceptable, and inhumane. For someone to just walk into a secondary school and kill students is something I condemn 100 percent. If I had the opportunity and the means, I would arrest the people behind this myself and hand them over to the police," he said.
The tragic event occurred on the evening of Saturday, July 26, 2025, when unidentified gunmen stormed the school premises and opened fire, killing the students on the spot.
The victims, identified by their first names as Lukman and Gideon, were reportedly in their dormitory at the time of the attack.
The incident has plunged the school and surrounding communities into mourning, with many expressing fear and outrage over the rising insecurity in the area.
