Naadu Mills presents bibles to Bolgatanga Girls School

One hundred and fifty seven students of Bolgatanga Girls Senior High School (SHS), at the weekend received bibles under the Ghana First Lady Senior High School Students Bible Project.

The project, the first of its kind, is an initiative of the former first lady, Dr Ernestina Naadu Mills, which aims at bringing young people back to God’s word and ultimately lead to a reduction of Bible illiteracy.

The project, which also focuses on transforming lives while inculcating the word of God in children, is a partnership with the Scripture Union (SU) Ghana, and Tyndale Publishers, the largest non-profit publishers of Bibles and Christian literature in the world.

Five hundred thousand bibles would be distributed to SHSs across the country valued at Ghc10,000,000.

Dr Naadu Mills asked the students to take responsibility of their own spirituality by fully interacting with God.

She expressed optimism that the Bible Project would help produce Godly future leaders and great citizens for the country.

Dr Naadu Mills said the project seeks amongst other things to encourage and inspire SHS students to know the word of the Lord.

“If you devote yourself to learn about Jesus Christ and develop a personal relationship with Him, it will be of great profit to you as you will gain wisdom and understanding and live a fully functional life to effectively serve Christ, your family, the nation and humanity,” she said.

Rev. Rosemond Anaba, Senior Pastor of Fountain Gate Chapel, called on the students to imbibe the word of God to impact their lives and be drawn closer to the kingdom of God.

Mr Jude Hama, Immediate Past General Director of the SU, assured the former First Lady of the union’s commitment in carrying out the project nationwide.
