NPP victory in 2016 non-negotiable – Chairman Wontumi

Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has prophesized that the three-time Presidential Candidate of his party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is the chosen president to dry the tears of Ghanaians in 2016.

According to Chairman Wontumi as he popularly known, the 2016 general elections is designed by God to make Nana Akufo-Addo the President of Ghana as God has sent him [Nana Addo] to rescue the country from the Mahama-led administration.

His comment on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show comes on the back of a comment made by the NDC General Secretary that Nana Akufo-Addo’s win as the flagbearer for the NPP will make the 2016 elections easy for the ruling NDC.

He, however, cautioned Asiedu Nketia and his party to rather concentrate on good policies that will make sure the suffering of Ghanaians have come to an end and not on how to continue to stay in power to impoverish the citizens.

“The cry of the country is before the Lord and that is why God has sent Nana Addo to their rescue and so 2016 elections will surely be in favor of Nana Addo and the NPP...If Asiedu Nketiah, Afari Gyan and Atuguba delayed NPP in 2012, tell them they cannot stop us in 2016; they can’t stop Nana Addo from becoming President in 2016 because they have exhausted their 8 years mandate.

“I prophesize on this radio station that 2017 by this time, Nana Akufo-Addo will be President in Ghana and the frequent power outages, the increased taxes and fuel prices will be a thing of the past; Ghana will attain greater heights under Akufo-Addo’s Presidency. Asiedu Nketia must know that the important thing is to make sure Ghanaians are living better and not to make sure that NDC continue to stay in power to inflict pains on Ghanaians; they must introduce good policies,” he cried.

He therefore demanded accountability of the cost involving in the building of the ultramodern Headquarters of the ruling NDC, describing the alleged $20million dollar mansion as insensitive on the part of NDC in the midst of the hardship of Ghanaians.

He insisted that the country will force the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to give account of the cost of the party’s Headquarters.
