General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah is sarcastically calling on the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) members to start jubilating if they believe President Mahama’s action concerning the Montie trio saga will cost him the Presidency.

According to him, the opposition NPP, before President Mahama exercising his prerogative of mercy to remit the Montie trio from prison had asserted that he [Mahama] would lose the 2016 election should he set the trio free.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, General Mosquito as affectionately called, reminded the opposition NPP to thank their stars for seeing their wish come through as President Mahama has done what will make the NPP win the 2016 election easily.

“Ursula Owusu and the NPP should jump in jubilation for the release of the 'Montie 3' since they said if President Mahama releases them, he would lose the 2016 election. I don’t understand why the NPP is complaining that the President has set the 'Montie 3' free if his action will make him lose the 2016 election. They should rather be happy, celebrating the action of the President,” he sarcastically stated.

He stressed that it is obvious the campaign messages of the NPP is to make sure Mahama loses the 2016 election; hence the NPP should start celebrating since the President has done something which will soften the ground for him to lose the election.

He maintained that there is no need going into the reason for President Mahama to release the three young men from prison; reiterating it will be waste of time because there is no reason for showing mercy to someone.
