NPP's intended state address is awkward - Pelpuo

Member of Parliament of Wa Central, Rashid Pelpuo has described as a recipe for disaster, the Minority’s intention to present its version of the state of the nation address on Wednesday as well present its own budget.

It is not clear why the Minority postponed its intended State of the Nation address which had earlier been scheduled for Tuesday ,but Rashid Pelpuo in an interview with XYZ News said the intention of the opposition MPs smacks of a confused lot.

“It is all awkward and unfounded. In the constitution there is only one state of the nation to be presented by the President and he has done so” Hon. Pelpuo said.

He added that “it is a recipe for disaster; they are sowing seeds of discontent and division in this country. Ghanaians should rise and tell them so; religious leaders should tell them that what they are doing is further dividing the nation”.

The Minister of state at the Presidency also questioned the basis of a threat by his party’s national organizer to have any minister who answers questions from Minority MPs sanctioned.

Yaw Boateng Gyan said he finds it odd for the Minority to be demanding that right despite their boycott of the vetting of the ministers when they were nominated by the President.

But Rashid Pelpuo said Boateng Gyan’s concerns are a bit misplaced.
