NPP republic of Ireland calls for calm

“The trouble we now face in the world is caused mainly by the refusal to try and see another man’s point of view, to try and persuade by example, …and the desire to impose ones will upon others either by force or other means”-Seretse Khama

With the wrongful death of one of the charismatic and charitable figures in our Great Party, Thursday 21 May, 2015 shall remain in the annals, as one of our darkest moments. Needless to say, a pall of severe magnitude has been cast over the country by the tragic demise of Alhaji Adams Mahama, the Upper East regional Chairman of NPP.

As a party that thrives in freedom, we join in the numerous condemnations of this barbaric act, and further call on the law enforcement agencies to speedily apply every power at their disposal to bring justice to the family of our departed patriot. While we appeal for calm throughout our Motherland, we equally urge individual(s) with any information that can assist in the investigation to, as a matter of civic duty, provide same to the police.

Most important, we wish to use this medium to convey our deepest condolences to the bereaved family, party, and indeed, all peace loving Ghanaians whose sensibilities have been affected by this unspeakable development.

We also wish to seize this opportunity to pledge our unalloyed support for our Flag-bearer and his Vice; and humbly ask party faithful and the general public to pray for them in this trying period. After all, what binds us as a people with a common destiny, far exceeds that which divides us.

As cautious pessimists, we believe the controversy which has bedevilled our Great Party is only transient; and like the proverbial phoenix, we shall rise from the ashes sooner, keep the faith, and ultimately win the race.

Love Live Ghana, Long Live NPP, Long Live our collective dreams!!!
