NPP race: Crowd demands Akufo-Addo declares bid

Hundreds of young supporters of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Thursday besieged the Nima residence of the party’s two-time defeated Presidential Candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to demand that he declares his intention to run for President again.

The youth said they were ready to support Nana Akufo-Addo for another term and therefore demanded to hear his intentions.

The former Attorney General arrived back home late Wednesday night after a six-month vacation in the UK.

He left after the Supreme Court validated President John Mahama’s election after a long election petition which ended in August last year.

Nana Akufo-Addo told the eager supporters at his residence that he could only announce his decision to run again for President after holding consultations with the elders of the NPP.
