A key aide to Dr Bryan Acheampong, Pius Enam Hadzide, has questioned the credibility of a new poll by Global Info Analytics which shows Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia with a commanding lead in the race to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2028 general elections.
The poll, released on Thursday, August 21,2025 placed Dr Bawumia ahead with 52% support among NPP delegates nationwide. Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong followed with 17%, while Dr Bryan Acheampong secured 3%, placing third.
The survey was conducted between August 12 and 20 and sampled 2,656 NPP delegates across the country.
Reacting to this, Hadzide has expressed skepticism about the poll’s findings, describing some political surveys as potential tools of manipulation.
“I don’t know about it, but many of this research are a psychological operation sometimes sponsored by politicians who seek to deceive unsuspecting audiences and to create a misleading impression,” he stated a citinewsroom report on August 22,2025.
However, he added that ‘the Bryan Acheampong campaign’ welcomes all forms of research as constructive feedback.

“Our attitude at the Bryan Acheampong campaign is that all research, wherever they are coming from, we take it as feedback and if there are any gaps, we work on those,” he stated.
Despite the low polling numbers, Hadzide said the campaign remains optimistic about Dr Acheampong’s prospects, highlighting his relatively recent entry into the race and what he described as strong momentum.
“We are very confident that Dr Bryan Acheampong is not only the fastest growing contender in this race published research has also confirmed this,” he indicated.
