NPP provides free buses to boost fortunes

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is offering to bus free-of-charge, its supporters living in Accra but who have to vote in other parts of the country during the December 28, 2008 runoff.

An advertiser’s announcement in the dailies is calling on all such supporters to “note that free transport arrangements have been made for them as follows:

“Comfortable Buses will leave Accra on Saturday 27th December, 2008 at 11.00am to Kumasi, Obuasi, Takoradi, Cape Coast, Agona Swedru, Berekum, Sunyani, Wenchi, Nkawkaw, Koforidua and Akyem Oda, and will pick them at designated points on Sunday, 28th December 2008 at 4.00pm to bring them back to Accra (Free of Charge).

“Supporters should however submit their Voters ID Card or any other proof of eligibility to vote. Please come along with all Party faithful in their numbers to make this impending N.P.P Victory a grand one.

“Please note that the Buses will converge at Kwame Nkrumah Circle Round-About.

“Ghana is moving forward so don't be left behind.”

The NPP’s opponents, the National Democratic Congress, are yet to make any such elaborate sponsorship of its supporters, but it is practice endorsed by the two sides to galvanize their supporters to vote.
