General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has accused some members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of plotting against him in their upcoming delegates' congress.

According to him, they are behaving as if they are the ones contesting him in the upcoming elections.

"If you are playing football and you realized that your opponent's goal keeper's arm is broken, why do you instigate for his removal when you know he will be ineffective at goal keeping with a broken arm?" he sought to know.

He said the NPP are crying more than the bereaved.

"I know my worth and I need not to intoxicate delegates with what I am capable of doing to assist the party in gaining grounds and consolidating our gains for victory in election 2020."

"I am confident that I will retain my position as NDC General Secretary come Saturday.

"I am not responding further to any allegations leveled against me, because the delegates know me better than my haters," he added.

Touching on the preparations for their upcoming congress, Asiedu Nketia explained that all the necessary arrangements have been put in place and hopes by the close of Thursday, accreditation for delegates will be sorted out to avoid any misunderstanding.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, he stated that the party has done all the necessary arrangements including grounds preparation, Technical issues, security among others for this year’s national delegates congress.

"The National Executive Committee (NEC) had also made the necessary security arrangements, considering the number of people who are expected to throng the Trade Fair Centre for the congress".

The NDC is expected to hold its national executive elections on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Fantasy Dome at the Trade Fair Centre, La in the Greater Accra Region.
