NPP "foot-soldiers" to get weekly allowances

Cape Coast, Nov 27, GNA - Mr Allan Kyeremanteng, an NPP Presidential aspirant, has promised the foot soldiers of the party, a weekly stipend to boost their morale prior to the general elections in 2008.

Mr Kyeremanteng gave the assurance during a tour of 19 Constituencies in the Central Region.

According to his aides who accompanied him on the tours, the promise is intended to assist the hardworking footsoldiers, who of late had been threatening to show the aspirants "where power lies in the coming 2008 elections".

Mr Allan Kyeremanten in his interactions with footsoldiers said "My message of job for all to bring cash into your pockets are indeed serious", which received a loud applause from the otherwise demoralized members at Twifo Praso.

He said the Presidential Special Initiative (PSI) was meant to "absorb all of you into gainful employment including those from other parties across the country".

"Any negative message about the PSI should therefore be ignored as sheer misleading propaganda, to discredit our party, he stated. He exhorted the younger members of the party to take him as their role model and aspire to achieve their desired goals. The presidential aspirant later donated money at a special fundraising, organized by the Central Regional executives of the NPP.
