NPP first year very successful

DORMAA-AHENKRO, -- Mr Emmanuel Duku, Dormaa District Chief Executive, has described the first year of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government as very successful.

He was speaking at coctail organised by the Dormaa West constituency branch of the party as part of activities to round off the first anniversary celebration of the NPP government.

The DCE said the government had been able to ensure the rule of law and the enjoyment of the fundamental human rights by all Ghanaians.

He said the government had been able to stabilise the cedi and reduced inflation "and these are signs of positive change in the economy".

The passage of the Reconciliation Bill by Parliament was a very great achievement and expressed the hope that Ghanaians would reconcile to ensure peace and development.

Mr Duku called on opposition parties to work in unity with the ruling government to ensure development of the country.

Mr Peter Nimoh, District Co-ordinating Director, advised the people to contribute their quota to efforts to improve the living conditions of the people.

He urged them to avoid negative tendencies like laziness, absenteeism, rumour mongering.

Barima Amponsah-Appiah, Ankobeahene of the Dormaa Traditional Area, who presided, asked the people to put premium on the development of the district and the nation as a whole.
